Respected Principal, teachers, parents, and dear friends,(you can add

“Pride, Brahma,
lord vishnu,
Pride Devo Mahesvara,
Guru is the manifestation of the supreme god
I bow to you Shri Gurudev.”
Good morning to everyone present here. Today, we are gathered to celebrate Guru
Purnima, a sacred occasion that honors the invaluable role of the Guru - the
teacher, the guide, and the mentor - in our lives.
The word Guru is derived from Sanskrit: "Gu" means darkness of
knowledge, and "Ru" means the remover of darkness. So, a Guru is
someone who removes the darkness of ignorance and leads us towards the light of
knowledge, wisdom and enlightens us in every possible manner.
Friends, traditionally, Guru Purnima is observed to pay homage to
Maharshi Ved Vyasa, who compiled the Vedas and authored the Mahabharata. But
beyond tradition, this day reminds us to express our gratitude to all those who
have taught us, guided us, and shaped us - whether they are teachers at school,
parents at home, mentors in life, or even life itself, which constantly teaches
us lessons.
In today's fast-paced world, where knowledge is just a click away, we
must remember that true wisdom comes not just from information but from
understanding, reflection, and good guidance. Our teachers motivate, inspire,
boost our confidence and make us have faith in our guts. That is what our
teachers give us.
Let us take a moment today to thank our teachers - past and present - who have
been patient, kind, and generous in sharing their knowledge and helping us
become better individuals.
Friends, India has always celebrated the sacred bond between a guru and
their disciple, where true transformation begins through guidance, trust, and
learning. Among the most iconic pairs is Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna
Paramhansa, where the spiritual master awakened the inner strength. Similarly,
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam always remembered Shri Bal Subramaniam Iyer, his school
teacher, who ignited his passion for science. Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai
Phule stood together not just as life partners but as an inspiring team of
teachers and Jyotiba Phule taught and encouraged Savitribai to become India’s
first female teacher, In the world of sports, our favourite God of Cricket
Sachin Tendulkar and his coach Ramakant Achrekar sir stand as a shining
example, where Achrekar Sir’s discipline, tough love, and tireless training
molded Sachin into the legendary cricketer the world admires today.
(Conclusion):
As students, the best way we can honor our gurus is by being respectful,
sincere, and dedicated in our learning and as we grow, may we also strive to be
guiding lights for others, just as our teachers have been for us.
Today on this occasion. I would like to bow down first in gratitude to parents.
They are our first teachers and second our all Gurus. May we always walk on the
path of truth, knowledge, and compassion.
Happy Guru Purnima to all my beloved Gurus.
Thank you.
